Kazuo Matsui (2B/SS), NYM - Rumor
January 02, 2006

News: The underperforming middle-infielder continues to be shopped around - the latest rumor involving an offer to the Boston Red Sox.

Views: He's been a target of the NY media and fans' contempt for a couple years now. A new address and reduced scrutiny could finally clear the way for a successful fantasy campaign (projects at .280/20HR/20SB). If his $8 million due this year doesn't become a deal breaker, consider buying low with Matsui on draft day.

Great discussion guys.

The Mets are pretty much looking to get rid of his salary. The latest rumor has him being traded for Alex Cora with the Mets picking up half of Kaz's salary.

I believe at this point, anything is an upgrade.

The risks of going overseas. You end up paying top dollar for any of their stars. What were his stats in Japan? I dont remember being impressed with them, but maybe they were better than I remember....
