News: Pedroia, who hasn't seen live action since early March because of a shoulder strain, resumed swinging a bat on Saturday.
Views: Pedroia was the reason that the Sox felt comfortable dealing Hanley Ramirez to the Marlins, and will take Alex Gonzalez' job at some point in 2007. He'd had an outside shot of making the team as an extra infielder if he'd stayed healthy, but he's probably better served going back to Pawtucket so he can get regular playing time.
