Fantasy Baseball Player News

Rickie Weeks (2B), MIL - Alert: LOW
March 28, 2006

News: It had been long hoped that the Brewers' Rickie Weeks would bat second for Milwaukee, but manager Ned Yost announced Tuesday that J.J. Hardy will bat second to start the season, and Weeks will fill the No. 6 spot.

Views: Great news for Hardy owners, but bad news for both Weeks and Corey Koskie owners. Weeks will miss out on RBI and RS chances in the sixth spot, and, based on how the Brewers' batting order is setting up, Weeks' appearence in the sixth spot bumps Koskie into the seven hole.

What to do with Rickie? Damm I was afraid of something like this. His SB will go down too!

Its to early to worry about that...the lineup could change a dozen times in the next month or so...

I have Weeks on a team but I'm not too worried...last season Hardy was much better hitting 2nd than Weeks, so from a real standpoint it is a smart decision at this juncture in the season. Plus, as far as Weeks is concerned, he had 5 steals batting 7th last year in 17 games, while he only had 9 in 62 games batting 2nd.

Who here was counting on Rickie hitting second and getting a lot of steals and runs scored?
