Adam Eaton (SP), TEX - Injury
March 29, 2006
News: Texas' No. 2 starter Adam Eaton walked off the mound after just 1 1/3 innings of work against San Diego. Eaton was having discomfort in his right middle finger. He missed much of last season with San Diego with a torn tendon sheath in the same finger. Though the extent of Eaton's injury was not immediately known, it seems almost certain he will open the season on the disabled list.
Views: After moving to the best hitter's park in AL, Eaton wasn't bound to make a huge splash this season, although he still would be a serviceable back of the rotation guy fantasy-wise. Knuckleballer R.A. Dickey, who was named as the Rangers' fifth starter only two hours before Eaton's injury, will move into the number four spot in the rotation. This will only have much impact in AL only leagues as he will definitely get more starts. Also, either Juan Dominguez or Edison Volquez, both sent to AAA earlier in the day, will be called back to man the fifth spot.
