News: Watson was named the Nationals' starting CF and possible leadoff hitter in a surprising move that saw last season's opening day CF Ryan Church being optioned to AAA New Orleans. General manager Jim Bowden said Tuesday's decision came down to Watson having a better spring than Church. Before striking out as a pinch-hitter Tuesday, Watson had a .311 average, a .368 on-base percentage, and seven steals in eight attempts. Church was hitting .200.

Views: Those looking for speed in the late rounds may want to take a flier on Watson, but proceed with caution. A quote from Nat's manager Frank Robinson is that the plan is to "play him every day, for a while, anyway."

It's nothing against Watson, but I just continue to hate to watch Jim Bowden ruin the Nationals like this. Get the Nats an owner PLEASE MLB.
