News: Matt Clement had this to say after his final outing of the Spring on Tuesday. “To me, that was the first time I felt like I’ve thrown like I want to since I’ve been in a Red Sox uniform,” Clement said following the Sox’ 10-5 loss to the Cincinnati Reds at Ed Smith Stadium. “I feel like I have a lot more weapons right now than I’ve had (in the past). . . . I’m a different pitcher than I was at any point last year.” That might have made us feel better if he hadn't just allowed six runs in five innings.
Views: Clement can blind you with his brilliance at times, but he's one of the least consistent starters in baseball. Because of his strikeouts and run support, he's arguably a legitimate third or fourth fantasy starter who says he feels good, but hasn't gotten results since late May of 2005. Approach him with caution.
