Jason Isringhausen (RP), STL - Alert: LOW
April 29, 2006
News: Another day, another typical Izzy save. Isringhausen recorded the first two outs, and had Daryle Ward in the hole at 1-2 before losing Ward. He would follow with two more walks to Alfonso Soriano and Jose Vidro before Nick Johnson bailed him out by pounding a first-pitch fastball into the ground right in front of home plate.
Views: Again, I'll mention that I was the Nats' fan in Busch screaming as they blew a great opportunity. Johnson, their most patient hitter, goes up there against the league's most overrated closer who is having an impossible time getting the ball over the plate, and bails him out on the first pitch. Izzy continues to play with fire, and at some point he's going to get burned.
Izzy has been burned many times so far this year. Hopefully, he fixes his troubles soon.

or he loses his job to Looper or Wainwright.

Those two have been bright spots in the bullpen. Looper has looked electric so far and Wainwright is getting the job done.
