News: Jose Contreras continues to pitch masterfully, this time picking up his 4th consecutive win for the White Sox. He pitched 8 and a third strong innings, giving up only 1 ER, 5 hits and a walk while striking out 4. After today's outing, his ERA dropped to 1.45 and his WHIP is now 0.86.
Views: Needless to say, those of you that drafted Contreras are getting much better results than you expected. The only knock on Contreras's fantasy value right now is his strikeout ratio, less than one every two innings. Besides winning for the 4th time this year, Contreras now has 12 straight wins in the regular season. Again, if you can get a proven stud (like Santana or Mark Teixeira), then sell high, but don't sell Contreras's hot start too cheaply, because he may be capable of great fantasy numbers all season long.
