Ruben Sierra (DH), MIN - Injury
April 29, 2006
News: Sierra left Saturday's 18-1 loss to the Detroit Tigers when he strained his biceps swinging at a pitch in the eighth inning, the AP reports. He's scheduled for an MRI tomorrow.
Views: Welcome back Jason Kubel? The Twins badly need a serious injection on the offensive side of the ball, and bringing up their top offensive prospect could provide that, as long as they keep him in the lineup on a daily basis. Kubel struggled in platoon duty earlier this season before being optioned to Rochester when Sierra came off the disabled list a couple of weeks ago, but he's looked like he's finding his stroke back in AAA. As for Sierra? His injury has absolutely no fantasy impact. At this point in his career, he's a below average hitter who is a severe injury risk. His value is limited to AL Only leagues that require you to draft pretty much every player in the league.
