Jake Peavy (SP), SD

News: Peavy had his worst start in over a month, but watched his offense give him some support for the first time in three starts as he improved to 4-5 on the year. Peavy allowed six runs on nine hits in just five innings. He also committed the Cardinal sin of pitching to Albert Pujols with runners on, and paid the price by allowing Pujols' 24th home run of the season.

Views: I wouldn't get too concerned. Peavy still struck out six, but he just had a rough outing. They happen to everyone on occasion.

I started Smoltz, Peavy, Santana, and Escobar today, figuring it would lower my team ERA.
