Todd Jones (RP), DET - Alert: MED
May 30, 2006
News: Jones attempted to work a second inning for the first time all season, and it didn't work out so well. After retiring the first four hitters he faced, Jones failed to retire any of the last six he faced. Jones went on to allow five runs on four hits and a walk in 1.2 innings as he dropped to 0-2 on the year.
Views: On the positive side, Fernando Rodney got just ten of twenty-four pitches over the plate himself in the eighth and ninth innings, though he only allowed two walks in a scoreless inning and a third. There's no controversy here yet, but Jones' situation remains a bit precarious.
