News: Burgos notched his second consecutive save in Kansas City's 8-7 win over the Oakland Athletics. He's now 1-2 with seven saves and a 7.01 ERA on the year.
Views: The closer controversy in Kansas City is put to rest, for whatever that's worth. The A's helped him out quite a bit, and Billy Beane probably broke something in the locker room after this one. Burgos allowed a base-hit and a walk in the inning, but the three batters that he did retire (Jason Kendall, Nick Swisher, Marco Scutaro) all flied out on the first pitch of their at bats.
