News: Liriano's bid for a no-no ended with one out in the sixth inning of Wednesday's game in Anaheim when Orlando Cabrera appeared to be out by half a step but was called safe on a high chopper. Liriano threw a wild pitch to Garrett Anderson, forcing Cabrera and Jose Molina to second and third, but struck out Anderson on a filthy slider and got Vladimir Guerrero to fly out deep to left to end the inning.
Views: With 104 pitches in the books, Liriano's likely done (in fact, I'll probably know by the time I'm done writing this update). He did struggle a bit with his command tonight, walking four batters in just six innings after walking eight in his first 32.1 innings this season. His strikeout numbers were also down a bit for him, though that can be expected against a team that thrives on aggression and contact like the Angels. However, he looked just as filthy as usual. Liriano's day is now officially done, as he's been relieved by Matt Guerrier to start the seventh. He leaves with a 4-0 lead after throwing 65 of 104 pitches for strikes and allowing just one hit and four walks in six innings of work.
