Albert Pujols (1b), STL - Activated
June 23, 2006
News: Pujols returned a few days ahead of schedule, but was a non-factor as he went 0-for-4 in Thursday's 1-0 loss to the Chicago White Sox.
Views: Don't expect Pujols to immediately return to putting up the astronomical numbers he was before he strained his oblique. It's not a sit him/start him question, though. If Pujols is in the Cardinal lineup, he'd better be in yours. Hopefully he didn't come back too soon and has put the injury completely behind him, but I have my doubts.
I heard that guy on ESPN who was commentating the Twins/'Stros game saying how he wasn't twisting his body and it was mostly upper body strength. A saw one of his hits that was fairly deep.

I was at the game last night, and those were just my own observations. It looked like all upper body, and he did not make good contact with any pitches. I share Jim's worry that Albert may have rushed to get back a little too soon.

Lucky.
