Justin Morneau (1b), MIN

News: After his hit streak ended at eleven games on Wednesday, Morneau's bat resumed it's scorching pace as he went 3-for-3 and finished just a triple short of the cycle in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Houston Astros. Morneau clubbed his eighteenth homer to right in the sixth inning, and has now raised his average to .275 on the season.

Views: Does anyone remember when Morneau was batting just over the Mendoza line in the second week of May? Morneau always looked like a kid capable of hitting .280 with thirty-plus homers, and he appears to be over the confidence issues he had in the box after getting beaned in the head last season. Keep him in the lineup!

On June 8, Morneau was hitting .235 with 11 HR and 39 RBI. On June 23, Morneau is hitting .280 with 19 HR and 61 RBI.

In two weeks, he raised his average 45 points, added 8 HR and 22 RBIs. I'll take that anyday.
