News: Byrd threw eight shutout innings in Saturday's 4-0 win against the Cincinnati Reds. He's now thrown four straight quality starts, allowing just 6 runs in 28 innings in that span. Byrd improved to 6-5 and lowered his ERA to 4.37 in the win.
Views: Byrd is normally one of those uber-consistent performers who will never really blow you away, but will never leave your head over the toilet bowl thinking about his performance either. He deserves a look as a back of the rotation starter unless you're in an extremely thin league.
