News: Beckett signed a three-year extension with the Red Sox Wednesday with a club option that could keep him in Boston through 2010. He celebrated by tossing eight innings of four-hit shutout ball against the Kansas City Royals as he improved to 12-5 on the year.
Views: Hopefully this will help Beckett down. He'd allowed twelve runs in just 10.1 innings over his last two starts. Beckett's primary struggles have been with the gopher-ball, as he's Eric Miltoned his way to 27 homers allowed in mid-July. Beckett was on today, as he was locating and keeping the ball down. Then again, he was facing the Royals.
