News: Everett was designated for assignment earlier in the day, no doubt hinting at the deal that was just announced for Ben Broussard. The Mariners now have ten days to trade or release him. Chris Snelling was recalled to take his place on the roster.
Views: Snelling's up for now, but we're still a bit unsure of how Broussard's joining the club is going to change things for him (Shin-Soo Choo, who was in the minors, was the principal player headed to Cleveland). As for Everett, forget about him. It's doubtful that the Mariners will be able to trade him before Monday, which means he'll most likely be released. He should land somewhere before the end of the year, but isn't a fantasy factor anymore.
