Hector Luna (2b/SS/OF), CLE - Trade (NL to AL)
July 30, 2006
News: Luna was dealt to the Cleveland Indians Sunday in exchange for Ronnie Belliard. All signs are that he'll start over rookie Joe Inglett for the Indians, who had lost Belliard to the Cardinals in the Rule V draft a few years ago.
Views: He's not a great option, but he'll carry some value in AL Only leagues. Luna hasn't shown that much pop in his brief big-league career, but he has shown he's capable with the bat. Given a regular starting gig, he could surprise by batting about .280 with five or six homers and five or six steals the rest of the way. Inglett, a 28-year-old slap-hitting rookie, shouldn't provide much competition.
