Cesar Izturis (SS), CHC

News: Izturis was traded from the Dodgers to the Cubs for Greg Maddux and cash.

Views: If nothing else, this means that he's going to play everyday. With the Dodgers' other additions just prior to the deadline (Julio Lugo and Wilson Betemit) along with Rafael Furcal, Izturis wasn't likely to be finding much playing time when Jeff Kent and Nomar Garciaparra return from the disabled list. Izturis is expected to play SS for the Cubs, with rookie Ronny Cedeno moving to 2b to accomodate him.
