Chone Figgins (2b/3b/OF), ANA - Injury
March 22, 2007
News: Figgins broke his middle finger when he misplayed a ground ball in Wednesday's Spring Training game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Though he's being listed as out indefinitely, he claims he will be ready for opening day.
Views: Any hand injury is going to be tough on hitters, as it can sting anytime you put the bat on the ball. Thankfully, power's not the reason that you have Figgins on your squad. If he's ready for opening day, don't treat this as anything major yet. However, keep an eye on this situation, and consider looking for a solid backup in case he hits the DL to start the year. Remember what Coco Crisp's broken finger seemed to do to his performance last season in Boston......
I dunno? Don't sign Gary Matthews Jr.?
Doh is trying to show how bad the GMJ signing was, not denying it.
