Fantasy Baseball Player News

Mark Prior (SP), ChC - Alert: MED
March 22, 2007

News: Mark Prior threw 59 pitches over four innings Thursday for the Cubs in his best performance of the spring thus far in a rain-shortened affair at Peoria, AZ against the Padres.

Views: Prior had a shaky first inning, but showed signs of his old self over the last three frames. He threw 35 of his pitches for strikes and, if the radar gun for TV was correct, he hit 93 a couple of times. His curveball was very sharp for the first time this spring. He's not over the hump, yet, as he continues to be a work-in-progress. Wade Miller remains the narrow front-runner for the Cubs' fifth spot in the rotation, but any trouble by Miller on Saturday, coupled with another strong Prior performance, it will be an even race. And Prior gets our hopes up yet again.

does anyone know how hard he was throwing on Wed, the 28th? I can't find anywhere. I know he's probably a lost cause but sounds like if he gets another 4 mph on the gun, he'll be much better off.

I really do feel bad for him although he is losing no money in the deal.

he sucks. he sucked last year, he sucked the year before. you keep him and see how well your team does this year.

I agree with you 100%. I will never own him again.
