Chad Cordero (RP), WSH

- Alert: MED
by Shaun Hess - Tue Apr 10
  • News: Chad Cordero has yet to have the chance to even close the door and get a save for the Nationals this year. In eight games, Chad has only thrown three innings and looked less than spectacular allowing either two hits or two walks in each of his three innings of work.

Views: I could only imagine it is hard for Cordero to get pumped up to come into a game while losing when he is usually trying to keep the lead. Regardless, owners projecting him to be a top closer are now under the realization that the Nationals are very bad this year. Sure he will get a few saves under his belt, but now is the time to decide whether you should trade him off or pray he gets traded to a better team in need of a closer and ride him the second half of the year.

His value in a keeper league remains intact right?

Possible. Rockies are interested. Red Sox, maybe.

Too early to tell. He could end up with a team who thinks they have a prayer early in the season. Also, he could end up with a team who is in great shape as a set up man.

Look for a contending team with an unreliable closer, and prospects to unload- Arizona???? I was in AZ a few days ago, and the broadcasters mentioned when cordero was in how they may need a more reliable closer than valverde....
