Roy Halladay (SP), TOR - Alert: MED
April 13, 2007
News: For the second time in his career, Halladay pitched ten innings Friday night. In one of the better pitching matchups of the young season, Halladay went toe to toe with Tiger starter Jeremy Bonderman through the first nine, and eventually was rewarded in the bottom of the tenth when the Blue Jays pushed across their second run for the victory. Halladay was extremely efficient, pitching to contact much of the way. He struck out just two against no walks, but limited the Tigers to six hits, and needed just 107 pitches to get through ten innings. The only blemish was a Magglio Ordonez solo blast over the right field wall.
Views: This may sound a little contradictory, but when Halladay's healthy, he's as durable a starter as there is in baseball. He always throws deep into ballgames, and he knows when he has to amp it up to another level. Friday's start only solidifies his status as a legitimate fantasy ace.
