News: On Saturday, Jason Schmidt allowed five earned on seven hits in just two innings of work. Several baseball scouts clocked Schmidt's fastball at an average of 83 with the high being only at 86.

Views: Following the game, Manager Grady Little acknowledged that Schmidt's velocity was below average. For a pricey pitcher entering only the first year of his contract and who has yet to have a dominant start, some in baseball apparently believe there might very well be something wrong with Schmidt.
