Carlos Zambrano (SP), CHC - Cold
April 18, 2007
News: Carlos Zambrano continued to struggle Wednesday, as he allowed five runs over six innings in a lucky no-decision in the Cubs' 8-6 loss to Atlanta.
Views: Zambrano continued his rocky performance that haunted his last outing. He gave up an RBI-single and a three-run home run to trail, 4-1, in the first. He allowed a few walks, but survived the next three innings before allowing a solo homer in the fifth.
Zambrano struck out six despite having allowed eight hits and five walks. On the season, he's allowed as many walks as strikeouts made (16 each). He's a mess right now and who knows what will right the ship. Z has a good history against the Brewers (.216 BAA), but I'd consider benching him in his next start.
