Johnny Damon (OF), NYY

News: After another below average week (he now finds himself batting .229 this season), Johnny Damon could take off the next couple games off to seek opinions on his ailing back.

Views: Could things get any worse for the Yankees? Yes, Matsui is back to fill in production-wise (though that might be at stretch the way he is playing), but if Damon's requires him to miss a significant amount of time, well... I don't know what to tell you Yankees fan.

Has he had back problems in the past or is this something relatively new? I know he's missed some time here or there, but could this really be something nasty? A chronic back problem doesn't sound like good news.

I remember him having a few minor problems with his back, but it never came up alot. This seems pretty recent, could be serious.
