Fantasy Baseball Player News

Bob Wickman (RP), ATL - DL
April 30, 2007

News: Bob Wickman has been placed on the disabled list with a upper back strain.

Views: Tough break for the Braves, but Wickman has been pitching through pain for awhile. Mike Gonzalez will likely get the majority of save opportunities while Wickman is out.

I don't know if Gonzalez is next. He's been out with elbow tenderness, so he needs some time to get jump started. I would look at Rafael Soriano.

they went with GONZALEZ tonight and he got the win---- I don't know if this is a good sign or bad sign that he will be the closer, but it does show that COX has faith in him to go with him during a 2-2 game in the 9th inning

I don't think Soriano was available to pitch tonight, AND it wasn't a save situation Gonzales was put in.

Soriano has been pitching a lot lately, but Bobby usually goes with his closer in that situation to keep the game tied.
