Philip Hughes (SP), NYY - Injury
May 01, 2007

News: Hughes was absolutely rolling along, with a no hitter through 6.1 innings when he grimaced and grabbed his hamstring after throwing an 0-2 curveball to Mark Teixeira. He was pulled from the game with one out in the seventh.

Views: He looks well on his way to his first win, but the injury is certainly a scare. It definitely looks like he tweaked his hamstring. I'm sure he'll be re-evaluated tomorrow and we'll find out more then.

ESPN is reporting he will miss 4-6 weeks with a hammy injury. Talk about bad luck.

The way I see it. He wasnt supposed to be up this early anyway. If anything, we now know what he is capable of. Believe the Hype, the kid is 20. Thankfully its a hamstring injury and not arm related.

NO and I could really use his spot for a weekly two start pitcher

21 soon.

I haven't seen him pitch but his line last night was awesome. A no-hitter as well as lots of ground balls and a good amount of strikes.
