News: Jason Marquis pitched eight very strong innings Wednesday in the Cubs' 7-1 win over the Pirates.

Views: Marquis allowed one run on just four hits without allowing a walk. He struck out five, with his only mistake being a solo home run by Ryan Doumit. The victory was his fourth straight win to go 4-1 with a 2.09 ERA and a 0.84 WHIP.

Jason Marquis was a phenom in my hometown, and pitched against my highschool when he was in highschool.

ehh...he'll be decent for the Cubs this year.

His first season with the Cardinals:

15-7, 3.71 ERA, 113 ERA+

And while I was very glad to see him go, I honestly believed he would've been a decent one-year signing for a team.

He'll be miserable next season.
