Wandy Rodriguez (SP), HOU - Alert: MED
May 03, 2007
News: Wandy Rodriguez pitched a fine game Thursday, as he allowed two runs over seven innings. He got the no-decision, however, in Houston's 7-5 win over Cincinnati.
Views: Chad Qualls' blown save cost Rodriguez his first win of the season. This was by far his best outing of the year, allowing six hits and no walks with eight strikeouts on the night. Houston has been struggling to find another starter out of its mess outside of Roy Oswalt. Rodriguez's WHIP has been stellar (1.12) -- it's been his ERA that has ballooned. Thursday's performance lowered it to a reasonable 4.09. Hopefully he can keep that up and post some wins along the way.
