News: Paul Maholm had his usual one great start per month Friday night. He held the Reds to two runs over seven innings as the Pirates defeated the Reds' 10-4 in extra innings.
Views: Maholm scattered seven hits (two solo homers) and two walks as he struck out six. If you can pinpoint when he has these great starts (he had a complete-game shutout of Houston in April), you'd be a genius. Otherwise, he stinks. Nothing to see here unless he strings some of these together. Don't see it happening.
