News: Bell remained perfect in save chances for the year as he threw a 1-2-3 ninth to close out the Mets. Bell, in his first shot at the role, is now 5-for-5 in save chances with a 0.00 ERA and a 0.65 WHIP.

Views: We had a feeling that the ninth would be OK in San Diego. We just weren't sure about the other eight innings on nights when Jake Peavy and Chris Young weren't pitching. Bell has quickly established himself as a solid top fifteen closer capable of 30+ saves and about a strikeout an inning.
