Next season and he'll likely stay at 2B. He's better for the Cubs office than DeRosa for sure. He just needs a little more patience.

I'd say May of 2008. I don't think that DeRosa is permanent at 2B and he was signed for his short-term 2B use and long-term flexibility. Once Patterson can prove he can handle the job, he should stick. It's probably not fair, but because of the last name, I'm wary, but hopeful.
