Week in Review
The Dodgers won both their series this week taking 2 of 3 from both the Cubs and Expos. The Dodgers made up one game in the wild card race and have won 12 of their last 17 games. The offense will need to keep up its production to keep the team in the hunt. The Dodgers have scored one run or less in a major league leading 31 games this season.

Beltre Finally Hot
Adrian Beltre has found his bat at the right time in the pennant race. He's leading the NL in RBI with 22 in August. For the month, he's hitting .275 with 6 homers and a .943 OPS. He hit two more decisive home runs this week including a walk off three run blast against the Expos. The Dodgers will need Beltre's continued success to make a run at the wild card.

RICKEY
Rickey Henderson is proving that he still has some fuel left in his 44-year-old tank and it comes with the spice known simply as Rickey. In August, Rickey is hitting .294 (5-17) with a .500 OBP. On August 13th, Rickey stole his first base as a Dodger which was his 1,404th. After the game, Rickey requested the base and took it with him.

Throughout his first week with the Dodgers, Rickey referred to teammate Dave Roberts as "Robinson," and in the middle of a successful run during a card came, Rickey bragged of having a "photogenic" memory. It's going to be a sad day for baseball when Rickey retires.

Injuries
Shawn Green (OF) - day-to-day (neck)
Green missed his first game of the season yesterday because of a stiff neck that has bothered him for the last three days. He should be back in the lineup shortly.

Kazuhisa Ishii (SP) - 15-Day DL (sprained MCL)
Ishii had a bullpen session scratched this week due to pain in his injured knee. When Ishii is ready, he'll probably make a rehab start in the minors before returning to the Dodgers. He is out at least another week.

Fred McGriff (1B) - 15-Day DL (strained groin)
McGriff suffered another setback this past week and team doctors determined that he needs more time to recover. It's looking more and more like McGriff is done for the year.

Andy Ashby (SP) - day-to-day (flu)
Ashby didn't make the team's road trip last week due to the flu. He is scheduled to start Saturday against the Mets.

Brian Jordan (OF) - 15-Day DL (strained patella tendon)
Darren Dreifort (SP) - 15-day DL (right knee)
Todd Hundley (C) - Status: 15-day DL, irritation of sciatic nerve (back)
Troy Brohawn (RP) - Status: 15-day DL, tendinitis in rotator cuff
