Fantasy Football Player News

Matt Turk (P), BAL - IR
September 11, 2005

News: 11-year veteran Matt Turk has been placed on the injured reserve, ending the Ravens kicker's season. The injury to Turk is a groin injury, which would seriously impede his ability to kick the ball.

Donnie Jones has been signed off of the Ravens practice squad to try to replace Turk.

Views: Jones might actually not be all that bad. In fact, I think that he will have a good year. In five preseason games for Miami, Jones averaged 45.2 yards per kick. Last season, he played in six games for Seattle. So, he isn't fresh coming onto the field, and he does look like he has the ability. What other component is there?

Seriously, this could hurt them. With that offense they really rely on field position.

Not that this is of great imortance here, but as fantasy footballers shouldn't you at least get the participants in the story correct? The team involved in the Turk/Jones story is the Miami Dolphins not the Baltimore Ravens. And P.S. Jones is having a pro bowl year.

Hence the first line in my post "Not that this is of great imortance here". Although when it comes to the Ravens or (my beloved)Dolphins, their punters may be their best offensive players LOL
