Week Twelve Match-ups
November 24, 2004
Quarterbacks
Plus Play:
Michael Vick, Atl -- No, I haven’t suddenly jumped on the Vick bandwagon (far from it). He does have 806 total yards, 5 TD passes and 1 INT in the last three weeks. But there is only one reason for me to mention him – the New Orleans Saints. They are last in the league in passing (270 ypg) AND rushing (151 ypg) defense and average just under three TDs allowed per game (tied for next-to-last). If Vick is the nightmare of any NFL defense, it’s the Saints.
Steve McNair, Ten -- McNair's Top 10 days are probably behind him but he might still be an effective starter the rest of the way, especially if Chris Brown is hurt. He had a pair of great games in 2003 (689 yards, five TD) against the very bad Texans’ secondary (256 ypg, 30th-ranked).
Negative Play:
Tom Brady, NE -- Brady should face a tremendous pass rush for much of the game. The Raves’ defense is second in the league in sacks and interception and third in passing defense. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to bench him this week if you have a decent alternative, but you probably don’t so good luck.
Kyle Boller, Bal -- Boller’s been getting a lot of pub of late about his “tremendous improvement” and “effectiveness”, since he has tossed four TDs with no INTs in his past two games, and has thrown for 200-plus yards in three of his past four.. Well, that’s in the real world. In fantasy life (you know, the one that matters?), he’s still scraping the bottom of QB barrel. And standing on the lid of the barrel? The New England Patriots, who have allowed an average of just one passing touchdown per game, are tied with the Ravens in sacks and have just one less INT than the Ravens. Wait until the return of Heap and Lewis to invest in Boller.

Running Backs
Plus Play:
Michael Pittman, TB -- Pittman is averaging more than 100 total yards and a TD per game over the last four weeks. The Panthers are tied for last in rushing TDs allowed this season (15). He’s good to go in Week 12 once again.
Negative Play:
Clinton Portis, Was -- Portis only has scored 3 TDs all season. After being held down by the Eagles’ defense last week, the Steelers wait for the ‘Skins to arrive. Pittsburgh features the second-best rushing defense (77 ypg) and allow the second-fewest rushing TDs in the league (four). Since Week 8, opposing RBs have averaged a meager 32 yards rushing and have only 1 TD (receiving)

Wide Receivers
Plus Play:
Derrick Mason, Ten -- Mason leads the league in receptions (62) and a now-healthy McNair sets him up for a good week against the 30th-ranked Texan passing defense.
Muhsin Muhammad, CAR -- Muhammad has scored 7 TDs and averaged over 100 yards receiving in the last 4 weeks. TB is a tough defense, but it’s not the top-notch brick wall they had been in the past. Go with the hot hand.
Negative Play:
David Givens, NE -- Givens caught one pass for three yards in a Week 11 win over Kansas City. The return of Deion Branch appeared to have a negative effect on him. Baltimore's stingy defense should limit Tom Brady's passing attack and the physical LBs and corners have a good chance to quiet Givens.

James Farrior or Danny Clark
James Farrior or Danny Clark
James Farrior or Danny Clark
Yes, it is very difficult.
And, of course, I have Clark ahead of Farrior.
Good luck.
Green did not practice Thursday, Friday or Saturday. His status for Monday night depends on his upper-body mobility and whether he can withstand hits to his midsection, which the Packers might not know until as late as Monday.
I can't say sit him, but wait until you hear what the talking heads have to say in the morning and go with your gut.
.......................................................................................
There's also a new update of the rankings.
Go with K-Barlow
I would go with Plummer as well, hes the most consistant and healthy QB out of those.
Indeed it is, but hey it was enought to score the TD.
