Jose Reyes is an awesome talent. I go as far as putting him ahead of Wilson Betemit in the SS rankings. Reyes combines speed, some pop, and great athletic skills to form a great all-around player.

Ah the typical over-rated METS prospect. If you want to talk about being over-hyped look no further. Not sure why Reyes is ahead of Betemit but I will divulge into this. First off, Reyes has no upper strength to his body. He uses his arms way too much in his swing. He also has no plate discipline whatsoever. If people think that plate discipline suddenly comes with experience they are wrong. While it may improve to an extent it doens't just suddenly come to someone. Reyes does have a lot of speed but tends to be jumpy on the basepath.

Now, I am not saying Reyes is a bad player by any means as he does have some power and speed. But until he learns to manage his plate discipline his AVG and OBP are only going to get lower. He should be within the Mets with 2-3 years but not before that.
