Ok, here we go, another one of my specialties, but I'll keep this short and sweet. Depending on the league settings, if a league has return yards and return TD's as categories, then there's no doubt in my mind that Terrence McGee ranks #1 for ALL IDP's. McGee plays double duties by returning kicks and making plays on the defensive side of the ball. Last year McGee lead ALL IDP's and even WR's in scoring. And as far as LB's are concerned, unless your name is Ray Lewis, you DO NOT belong at the top of the list. Ray Lewis is by far, the BEST LB in the game. |

Most don't. But there's always room for "ifs".

True. Unless your name is Keith Bulluck. |

Well, Guy-that-has-Sean-Taylor-as-his-signature-photo , because I have Williams projected to have well over 100 total tackles, to less than 85 for Taylor. And about 15 others with more tackles.
Because I have Willams projected to have four FF and two FR, compared to one each for Taylor. And I have everybody (but one, ahem, TERRENCE MCGEE ) ahead of Taylor with at least one and one or more.
Otherwise, I have them the same for sacks, ints and PDs.

Well over 100 tackles? What, are the Cowboys going to play this year without any LB's?
If you can put Roy Williams #4 with a straight face, then it should have been pretty easy to put Sean Taylor in the top 10.
Taylor is more Ed Reed than Roy Williams. He wont have monster tackle numbers but WILL put up nice turnover numbers. I fully expect the INTs, FF, and FR to go up this year...just like they have every year with Reed.
Reed's rookie year - 85 total tackles - 1 sack - 5 ints - 12 PD - 0 FF
Taylors rookie year - 78 total tackles - 1 sack - 4 ints - 15 PD - 2 FF
In fact, Reed hasnt had more than 85 tackles any given year.
Reeds 2nd year ---- 71 tackles - 1 sack - 7 INT - 15 PD - 1 FF
Taylor 2nd year -----???????
--------------
Sean Taylor ranked #23.......... |

No, not okay.
I just flipped through 16 IDP rankings.
Out of them, one had Taylor in the top 10 (8).
Four had Taylor ranked between 11-19 (an average of 15.5).
ELEVEN had Taylor ranked 20 or higher (an average of 30.6).
So, I guess I have him ranked a little higher than the average bear did. |

Well, I like the guy who stuck his neck out and ranked him in the top 10.....and the few guys who had him top 15. The kid has skills. He's huge for a safety and can run all over the field. I guess I just think he's one of the top 10 safeties in the league. Period. And for me, that translates into a top 10 ranking....or 15 if I'm being generous.
Where was Roy Williams ranked in these same rankings? |

Ok, I'll join the party and throw in my 2 cents........
I hate to say it, but Byron is right on this one, Sean Taylor should be in the top 10. The boy is just an ANIMAL! Maybe after he puts up better numbers this season will he crack the top 10 on Jeff's list. But as of right now, he's on my top 10 DB's list! |

Never said he wasn't talented -- he is. He'll get there.

Let's see -- All but one had him in the top 10 (13th).
Eight had him in the top five (average of 3.2).
Seven had him between 6-10 (average of 7.6). |

No offense Jeff (BTW good job), but how exactly do you project FF? To me FF, fumble recoveries, safeties and TD's are not factored in to IDP rankings, those stats rely too much on luck, I.e. right place at the right time. That's just me, but..................... |
