Well, I'm glad I drafted what I thought was one too many OFs in the league I have him in.

Just to follow up on this story, I just came across this on Yahoo! Sports...sounds like Reed has a chance to be healthy and ready for opening day even:

Quote:
PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) -- Seattle Mariners center fielder Jeremy Reed has a sprained right wrist and not a broken wrist, as the team originally thought.

Reed rejoined the team Tuesday, a day after he was examined in Seattle. He resumed throwing, running and every baseball activity except swinging a bat.

Reed said he was "relieved, and excited. It's still tender and sore, but I'm certainly happy it's not broken."

Reed, who is not wearing a brace on the wrist, ran into the padded center-field fence at Peoria Sports Complex on Thursday night in pursuit of a fly ball during an exhibition game. He played another three innings through pain.

Team trainer Rick Griffin said the second-year starter will likely be re-evaluated on Saturday.

"It will take time and work to get him back in the lineup," Mariners manager Mike Hargrove said. "We are relieved that an original timetable dropped from four-to-six weeks with a broken bone to about three-to-five days."

Reed batted .254 in 141 games with Seattle last season.

How do you go from "you're out six weeks with a broken wrist" to "it's not really a broken wrist?"

A second opinion gave him the good news. You know, second opinions have generally given good news and first opinions bad news.
