News: Botts hit his first big league homer in Sunday night's 4-3 win over the Oakland A's.
Views: There has been a lot of speculation that Botts may get a little more playing time with Phil Nevin struggling, and there's a chance that he won't look back. Botts has consistently hit for power down in the minors, blasting 24 in AA in 2004 and 25 in AAA last season. He had ten home runs in just 148 AAA at bats before receiving the call earlier this week. Botts tends to strike out a lot, but has decent plate discipline to go along with it, and figures to have a future at the big league level.
