News: Blanton went the distance for his first career shutout in Wednesday's 7-0 win over the Kansas City Royals. Blanton scattered five hits and two walks as he needed just 118 pitches (78 strikes) to complete the game. He struck out four as he improved to 5-5 on the year.
Views: It's hard to get too excited about a great outing against the Royals, but this is Blanton's time of year. Last June, he went 5-1 with a 2.06 ERA after going winless in the season's first two months. If he's sitting on your waiver wire, grab him now.

It's a shame for me... I dropped him before he even made his start.
Hopefully the other owners won't look into it too much because it was against the Royals. He's still sporting a 5.21 ERA.
