News: Wilson's name continues to come up in trade rumors with the St. Louis Cardinals. St. Louis could clearly use him at first base until Albert Pujols returns, and he wouldn't make for a bad left field option upon Pujols' return.
Views: The problem here is that Dave Littlefield is out of his mind. He's asking Walt Jocketty for Anthony Reyes. Does he think the Cardinals are trying to acquire Jason Bay? Wilson is a nice utility man who can hit for power and some average, but is a bit of a defensive liability. He's a journeyman who the Pirates have always misused a bit in my eyes, as he should have been starting for the past few seasons. However, he's not worth a front-line starting pitching prospect... particularly when the team you're trying to acquire him from has four starters up for free agency at the end of the season.
