Baseball Player News: Freddy Garcia (SP), CWS

News: After watching his ERA jump from 3.92 to 5.08 over his previous five starts, Garcia was brilliant against one of the better lineups the National League has to offer on Thursday. Garcia went eight shutout innings, allowing just four hits and a walk in the White Sox' 1-0 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. He struck out two as he moved to 9-4 on the year.
Views: Garcia runs hot and cold, so this is nothing that new. We did spotlight him as someone who usually turns a corner in June a few weeks ago, but his performance throughout the month has certainly left a lot to be desired. Let's hope he can piece a few more of these together, as he ruined an absolute gem by Cardinal rookie Anthony Reyes in this one. |
