Baseball Player News: Chase Utley (2b), PHI
By: James Meyerriecks

News: Utley extended his hitting streak to an MLB season-best 26 games as he went 2-for-5 with his nineteenth homer of the season in Wednesday's 6-4 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Utley, who hadn't homered since July 2 until Tuesday, has now homered three times in the past two nights.

Views:Furthermore, next season's top second base option (Soriano's still there for this year) has raised his average to .321 in the process. Utley's bound to hit a dry night some time in the near future, but there's no excuse for taking him out of your lineup regardless.

Now at 27 games. The fact that hes my 2nd baseman in my main league makes it so much sweeter.

Does anyone think he tops Rollins' streak?

it could happen.... I wish that the media didn't make such big deals about these streaks. puts too much pressure on the players when they are only halfway to the record.
