News: Cordero was sent to Milwaukee as part of the six-man deal that landed Carlos Lee for the Rangers on Friday.
Views: This should do wonders for Cordero's fantasy value. Cordero lost his job when he was pitching horribly early in the year. Despite getting lit up by the Yankees his last time out, Cordero figures to poach the closing duties in Milwaukee. While the Rangers obviously did very well for themselves here and were the "buyers", the Brew Crew didn't do poorly from a win now standpoint. Cordero vastly improves their closing situation, while Kevin Mench gives them a nice solid replacement option for Lee in Left Field. Laynce Nix figures to probably take the starting CF role from Brady Clark by the start of next season as well, so this was far from a straight sell. Melvin did very well.
Ned Yost said that Derrick Turnbow is his closer and Francisco Cordero is his set-up man. Will that statement last? Who knows, but unless Turnbow continues to struggle he will be closing out games for the Brewers.
Nix should be starting in one of the corner outfielder positions next year (Left Field, unless Jenkins is moved) and Tony Gwynn Jr. has all but cemented his name in as the starting CF of the future.

I'm so confused over what to do with Turnbow, I guess I'll hang on to him for a little longer. He made my closer situation go from looking good to looking bad.
