News: Bell was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers Friday in exchange for minor-league pitcher Wilfredo Laureano.
Views: While I love what Melvin did in the Carlos Lee deal, I'm not so sure I see the need for this trade. I would assume that the acquisition of Tony Graffanino earlier in the week solidified their infield depth enough so that they don't need Bell, but you can never have too much depth (the Brewers can tell you, with Koskie, Hardy, and Weeks all currently injured). Bell will get some playing time while the injuries are keeping Koskie and Weeks on the bench, but nothing beyond that. |
