Baseball Player News: Shawn Chacon (SP), PIT
By: James Meyerriecks

News: The Yankees dealt the struggling Chacon to the Pittsburgh Pirates for Craig Wilson Monday.

Views: Chacon will probably start in Pittsburgh, which he wasn't doing much for the Yankees in the past few months. Chacon has shown flashes of brilliance in the past, but he's really not worth your time.

Moving from the AL East to the NL Central should help a little bit, right?

This guy bombed this year, couldn't even last for 5-6 innings (or was that Wright?) and got moved out of the rotation (I think). Is he going to start in Pittsburgh?

Well, probably not as much as you'd expect. When he was pitching for the Yanks he got to pitch against the O's and DRays a lot. With PIT he'll be throwing against the Cubs and a bunch of WC contenders. Albeit it's a "JV" league, the move is mitigated to some extent because of the team he was on and is on. But yes, it should help.
