News: Morneau hit a two-run game-winning shot in the eighth inning of Wednesday's 4-3 victory over the Detroit Tigers. The home run was his thirtieth of the season, making him the first Twin to hit thirty homers since 1987.
Views: That's nearly a twenty year drought for those keeping score at home, but don't expect another one to begin in the next couple of years. Morneau has emerged as a borderline top five first baseman, and his best year's are yet to come. Expect him to become a perrenial forty homer guy who hits for average as well. In a side note, he also surpassed the 100 RBI mark for the first time in his career with the homer.

that was one of the biggest homers I have seen in a while. After Zumaya blew away Cuddyer with a 101 MPH fastball, Morneau turned on a first pitch fastball (clocked at 101) that was up and away and launched it. It was truly a defining moment in his career. A big homer to give Santana a deserved win.
