Baseball Player News: David Ross (C), CIN
By: James Meyerriecks

News: Ross hit his fourteenth homer of the year in just his 146th AB, jacking a two-run walkoff shot against St. Louis closer Jason Isringhausen in Wednesday's 8-7 win.

Views: We know Ross has power, but he's been absolutely insane this year. Entering this season, the journeyman had 19 homers in 444 career AB, so he's still hitting a little out of his mind right now. That said, he's never had the opportunity to hit in a park as conducive to homers as The Great American Ballpark in the past, with stops in San Diego, Pittsburgh, and Los Angeles. While it's a shame that the Reds won't play him a little more often so that you can get full value out of his power numbers, he's still a fine play in any fantasy format because, unlike most catchers, he can't kill your batting average. Not like he'd be doing that anyway..... he's batting .295 on the year.

So, Hesshaun, is this enough proof for you that he's on steroids?

Apparently you are bored today?

Anyhow, like Jim said, he has never played in a park that was as homer friendly. He has put up similar numbers previously, in relation to the park, so if he is on steroids, I would say he has been on them for a while. I think catchers are the toughest to users to spot since they are so big to begin with.

Easy spotters were Pudge and Javy. Both PRs, so I am guessing they both hit the cycles together in the off-season.

I would guess this guy isn't. If he is he is another Grimsley type who is taking away a roster spot for some young clean guy. That would be a shame, but it very well could be reality.

I hope I entertained you for the day pollen.
